THERE IS A NEW CHOIR IN TOWN
Introducing the
"Albany Singers Inc."
ALBANY SINGERS
Hello and Welcome to our new upgraded web
site. Albany Singers is now over three years old, and our group
consists of
about 50 keen vocalists. We are true to our commitment to be an
un-auditioned
community choir rehearsing at Holy Cross Church Albany.
Rehearsals are every Tuesday at 6.45pm with
a break during each school holiday, and our summer recess is usually
from Mid
December to early February.
The music team led by Anne Connolly-Munt
cover all aspects of singing, vocal coaching and language.
Our repertoire which is usually heard at three or four
concerts during the year covers most types and styles of music that can
be put to words. Last year it was Gilbert and Sullivan this year it is
well known popular operas choruses sung in the language they were
originally written in.
We will be singing this year in The Bruce Mason Centre and
the Auckland Town Hall as well as more locally on the shore.
The choir is well managed and run with an elected committee
and an enthusiastic large group of volunteers.
We would like to see a few more baritones and tenors, so if
the shower walls aren’t applauding your wonderful singing pop in on any
Tuesday to see if you “slot” in, we operate in a relaxed convivial fun
environment and you would be welcome.
