INTRODUCTION FROM THE PRESIDENT OF ALBANY SINGERS

Hi there

We are now just over 12 months old - and we have a membership of 80 singers. A huge effort. We are an incorporated society and a registered charity.

As usual, we have a busy time planned. We have just finished a season of concerts singing "Last Night at the Proms" with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra - directed by Gary Daverne ONZM It was a great feeling to have two sell-out concerts at Bruce Mason. We are planning to do it again next year.

We are a community choir and have another season of our concerts in September. At this stage we are planning to be joined by a different group of musical students for each of our three concerts. We will be singing show songs, for instance: "I'm getting married in the morning", "Can you feel the love tonight", "Cabaret", "Songs from Oliver" That should be lots of fun !!

We will then be focusing on our Christmas concerts.
